Open Conversation on the LMA 2009 Conference

Open conservation with Dan and Kate on the LMA Conference. This video is a little longer and probably could be cut down but we can start with this. I kind of pulled it together as an open casual conservation.

Inspired by Paper, Elizabeth Parthum and the Pyramid Atlantic Print and Paper Studio

Film by Bruce Jones, "Inspired by Paper" featuring Elizabeth Parthum and her thoughts on papermaking and working at the Pyramid Atlantic Print and Paper Studio in Washington DC. This films was part of the Backpack Journalism Workshop by Bill Gentile and the PBS show "Now".

Over 4 days we had to select a location, go there twice, meet people, find a story, shoot back ground, then shoot an interview, review footage and figure out what you had, edit it all and present it complete at the end of the workshop. It was a great experience and I learned a huge amount on finding and producing stories using portable video and computer equipment.

MGH Eat Street Cafe Hallway Renovation Project

Video produced to highlight a project Bruce Jones Design recently completed at MGH. The project involved the renovation of two hallways around the Eat Street Café at the hospital, total footage about 270' feet. Our job was to design and produce wall graphics for the upper half of the walls to highlight food elements relating to the Cafe. The project took over 2 years from start to finish. This video takes us through the major steps of the project. This video was produced using mostly still camera shots with a little Flip camera video. Motion was added to the stills to give the feeling of movement, production done in FinalCut.

MGH Magnet Wall Installation Video

Video on the installation of the Magnet wall graphic at MGH Hospital. This video walks you through the basic steps in installing a vinyl adhesive wall graphic. Shot on location with a hand held consumer video camera and natural sound. Additional audio was recorded and laid over the video for narration about the installation steps. Editing was done using FinalCut.

LMA Conference 2009 Video

Short video produced to announce the upcoming LMA New England 2009 Annual Conference. This video was shot in sort of a quick grab mode at the LMA summer outing on top of the Green Monster Wall at Fenway Park. No planning was done and it was shot in 2 takes. A total of about 12 minutes of video was produced which was use for the cutaways or B roll. This was done with a simple consumer video camera. Editing was done using FinalCut.

How to Customize PowerPoint Clip Art Maps

How to video produced to show tips and techniques for customizing editable PowerPoint maps from the World of Maps Clip Art Collection from www.bjdesign.com. This video was captured and edited using the screen capture software Screenflow. The actual demo was done in PowerPoint. Screenflow is an amazing product that allows you to capture two tracks of video from the computer, what is on the screen and what is coming through the built in camera and also records the audio from the internal mic. For editing the two video tracks are independent of each other and can be moved around the screen, turned, tipped, shadowed, all kinds of things. Screenflow outputs a .mov file that is clear and nicely compressed. This is one of the best pieces of screen capture software out there for producing how to, training types of video.

The Adele Decof Foundation Dinner Video

Video produced for The Adele Decof Foundation fundraising dinner. This video/short film was produced to talk about the benefits and services performed by The Adele R. Decof Cancer Comprehensive Cancer Center in Providence, Rhode Island. It centered around a patient and her experience with getting chemotherapy and with the center. The film was shot with two video cameras and edited in FinalCut.

How to Play the Major Guitar Chords: A, B, C, D, E, F, and G

This video is a "how to video" showing how to play the different major guitar chords. It is shot on tape and edited in FinalCut. Note the insets in the video showing close ups, labeling along the bottom and graphics dropped in showing the chord finger positions. All elements were shot or produced individually and then edited together. This video is designed to be hosted on several video platforms, YouTube, MetaCafe, YahooVideo, etc. Description is heavily keyworded with web links back to the Acoustic Music TV site.
